Noah's Type of Baptism

Eight people were baptized during the account of Noah. These people were Noah, Noah's wife, followed by Noah's three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japeth, and their own wives in Genesis 6:18 AV.[1][2]. The names of the wives are not listed in the Bible, but there has been many non-canonical works written speculating over what the names may be.

Noah and the seven others listed were saved by means of water from the filth of the flesh as described in 1 Peter 3:20-21.[2]

1 Peter 3:20-22 also compares Noah's Type of Baptism to the Baptism into Christ to show the similarity. Here the Baptism into Christ is described as "the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him".
We can see that The Baptism into Christ is by means of the resurrection of Jesus Christ instead of by water. We also see that instead of being saved from flesh, there is no flesh to contend with as Jesus has paid the price for our sins. It's simply stated as 'the answer of a good conscience toward God'. This is the Baptism into Christ taught by Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles in Galatians 1:1 and Galatians 2:8.[3]

Baptism unto Moses

In 1 Corinthians 10:1-2 Paul clearly states that "...our forefathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in sea". It is clarified that it was the time when Israel moved forward and met Moses as they were leaving Egypt. It is further clarified that it was the time they met Moses "in the cloud and in the sea" as opposed to any other time. Then the mechanism of the baptism was under the cloud, and as all passed through the sea. The nation of Israel as a whole required signs and wonders to believe, so the means of being saved is a literal one in this example.[4][5]
